Lakegala


Sri Lanka Rock or Lakegala Rock is located on the border between Kandy and Matale Districts and is located at a height of 1310 m in the Knuckles Range.




The best place to enter this Lakegala rock is the village of Meemure. The journey begins at Mee Mura and ends at the first 3 km of the river. This rock looks like a sleeping giant between the boundaries of Kandy and Matale. Although this is a very difficult climb, it is a fun ride for those who are interested in mountaineering.

According to local beliefs, it has been confirmed that King Rawana has a connection to this Lakegala rock. This Lakegala rock is very suitable for all those who are interested in mountaineering.
